Lemont is a village located in Cook, DuPage, and Will counties in the state of Illinois and is a suburb of Chicago. Lemont has a substantial immigrant population and is home to the CITGO Refinery, Argonne National Laboratory, and other industrial sites.
A close knit community with a rich history, Lemont is home to 16,000 residents. Lemont is also an affluent and well educated community, with median household incomes far above the state average.
Lemont has a station on Metra’s Herritage Corridor, which provides weekday rail service between Joliet and Chicago Union Station. In 2007, the Interstate 355 tollway extension opened, providing Lemont with more direct access to the Chicago expressway system. An interchange is located on 127th Street.
